The Founder of CVL (Centre for Values in Leadership) Prof Pat Utomi, Members of the CVL Board and Staff of CVL specially invite you to attend the 2013 Special Edition of CVL Annual Lecture which will hold on Wednesday, 6th February, 2013 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), 13/15 Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos by 10am.
The 1st CVL Annual Lecture took place on February 6, 2004 at NIIA Lagos. In this special edition to commemorate the 10th in the annual lecture series we will be discussing: Leadership and Values: The Challenge for the Next Generation of Leaders. The Speakers are: Prof Wole Soyinka, 1986 winner of Nobel Prize for Literature; Hon Jerry Weller, seven term 14 year veteran Republican Congressman from Illinois now Managing Partner New World Group Public Affairs Plc, and Prof Jerry I. Porras a Professor at Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Professor Emeritus of Organizational Behavior and Change and co-author of award winning book: Built To Last. The event will be Chaired by Mr Felix Ohiwerei, former Chairman of Nigeria Breweries Plc. We have also invited five state governors to form a special panel that will discuss the above mentioned topic.
During the past decade, CVL (Centre for Values in Leadership) on an annual basis has assembled noted thought leaders and renowned experts from around the world to discuss topics relevant to our country’s economic and socio-political development. The CVL annual lecture which holds every 6th of February is one of the important programmes of CVL and a key instrument we have adopted to constructively contribute to nation building and national development. It attracts more than 600 high profile guests drawn from the public, corporate and business sectors in Nigeria. CVL makes no material gain from organizing this programme. CVL runs other programmes such as CVL Role Model Forum, CVL Leadership Development Centre, CVL Boot Camps, CVL Leader Without Title and CVL Club through which we inspire, empower, motivate and equip young men and women to become values-driven leaders.
In commemoration of the 10th CVL Annual Lecture, CVL (Centre for Values in Leadership) will publish its first edition of the CVL Leadership Compendium which will be launched on a date to be announced later. This compendium, (A coffee-table book), will serve as a multidimensional leadership tool-kit for personal development, a reference material and guide for students, a guide to management strategy and organizational development, a good resource for policy makers and above all a motivation to doing things right in the public sector, private sector and social sector.
